So, here are a few stories you simply Have To Read. They're more like commands than recs, actually!

Tincture of Vice by magnolia_mama

SUMMARY: It's been nearly eighteen years since Dumbledore's death, and Draco Malfoy, who has been in hiding all this time, has finally turned himself in. Harry wants to know why.

Why the rec? Apart from the fact that Mags could write a sentence and I'd squee like the unworthy fangirl I am, this story has the best interaction between Draco and Harry I've ever seen. Despite the 18 years that are between them, the animosity is still there, but muted, and it was breathtaking in its characterisation. Do not forget to leave a review!

SUMMARY: But now, sitting in bed, it’s suddenly hit him that this ‘having a baby’ concept which they’ve talked about is no longer a concept. This was written for katieay, who is going to be a brilliant mother, and for Embo, who I'm sure will be an utter delight!

Why the rec? See above gushing commentary about Mags for the first bit. Secondly, Antonia wrote this for me when very little people knew I was pregnant and I hadn't come to the oh, shit! moment just yet. Thirdly, well, as always the character of Ron is brilliantly depicted. Somehow, Monty is able to keep all HP characters completely in line with Canon and still make them her own. Her simple depth of feeling and insight shines through especially here. Do not forget to leave a review!

CHARACTERS: George Weasley and Luna Lovegood
SUMMARY: Not many people bother learning to tell the twins apart. But George Weasley begins to discover that Luna Lovegood is not at all like many people. In fact, she's one of a kind.

Why the rec? Well, there's no way I would have read this if it had not been rec'd to me. Her characterisations are solid, her dialogue is excellent and George/Luna are one of my favourite ships thanks to her story. Somehow, she makes it work without losing sight of who George and Luna are as people.
